In response to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus, Okinawa Prefecture has shortened business hours for restaurants, etc. for 20 municipalities in the central and southern part of the main island of Okinawa, including Naha City, for three weeks from April 1st. We have entered the final adjustment in the direction of requesting.

In Okinawa Prefecture, since the prefecture's own state of emergency was lifted from the 1st of this month, infections have spread through eating and drinking places, mainly in the 20s and 40s.

In response to this, Okinawa Prefecture will be targeting 20 municipalities in the central and southern part of the main island of Okinawa, such as Naha City, where food-related infections are occurring one after another for three weeks from the 1st to the 21st of next month. We have entered into final adjustments in the direction of requesting shortening.

Specifically, we are adjusting to shorten business hours to 8:00 or 9:00 pm, and we are considering providing a cooperation fund of 840,000 yen to businesses that respond to requests.

Okinawa Prefecture had requested a reduction in business hours until the 28th of last month, but it is expected that it will be forced to request again in just one month.

Okinawa Prefecture is coordinating to request the citizens of the prefecture to refrain from going out unless it is unnecessary and urgent, and will formally decide at the countermeasures headquarters meeting on the 29th.
