Dubai Economy: 1645 active companies in Al Warqa

A report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector in the Dubai Economy showed that the total number of active and operating companies in the Al Warqaa region, until yesterday, reached 1645 companies that were distinguished by their diversity according to the license category, with the commercial activities being at the forefront (888 licenses) by 54%. Then the professional activities (732 licenses) by 44%, while the rest of the percentages were distributed to industrial and tourism activities.

The report pointed to the volume of commercial activities in Al Warqaa to give the business community an introductory overview of the reality of business and the opportunities available in that region, indicating that 497 licenses were issued in Al Warqaa during the past year, with a growth rate of 111%, compared to the number of licenses issued during the year 2019. The number of which reached 235 licenses.

Legal form

With regard to the legal form of active licenses in Al Warqaa, the report indicated that the licenses of individual establishments came first with a rate of 70%, followed by limited liability companies with a rate of 21%, and then civil works with a rate of 4%.

He added that the legal forms also include limited liability companies - one person (LLC), branches of companies based in another emirate, solidarity companies, branches of Gulf companies, social networking sites, simple recommendations, and branches of companies / Free zone-based corporations and public joint stock companies.

Top 10 activities

The report showed that the top 10 activities for licenses issued in the Al Warqaa region included the following: a restaurant, trade in perfumes and cosmetics, ready-to-wear clothing, preparing snacks, gift trade, fashion and clothing design, a coffee shop, handbags and leather products trading, trade in jewelry from other than precious metals. And the trade of cut flowers and indoor ornamental plants.

A rapidly developing area

The report emphasized that Al Warqaa is a rapidly developing area, indicating that although it is located on the outskirts of the emirate, it has become known and connected to all areas of Dubai via Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, which wraps around the western border of the region.

He mentioned that Al Warqaa is 25 kilometers from Dubai Creek, and is located between Mirdif and the International City, explaining that it takes 15 minutes to reach Dubai International Airport, while Dubailand can be reached within 30 minutes.
