The amusement park "Kashii Kaen" in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka will be closed at the end of December.

Nishi-Nippon Railroad, which operates the company, is reviewing the business of the entire group and says that it is part of withdrawing from the deficit business, which is unlikely to recover due to the impact of the new coronavirus.

This was revealed at a press conference on the 25th by President Sumio Kuratomi of Nishitetsu and Managing Director Koichi Hayashida, who will become president next month.

According to this, the amusement park "Kashii Kaen Sylvania Garden" in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City will be closed on December 30 due to the decrease in visitors due to the deterioration of the facilities and the influence of the new corona.

In addition to its main business of transportation, Nishitetsu continues to face a difficult business environment in which the number of users decreases significantly in hotels and commercial facilities.

For this reason, the Group's entire business was reviewed under the new medium-term management plan, and the closure of Kashii Kaen is part of withdrawing from the deficit business, which is unlikely to recover due to the impact of the new Corona.

Kashii Kaen, which opened in 1956, is the only amusement park in Fukuoka City, where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and the "Sylvania Garden," which recreates the village where animal characters live, was gaining popularity.

However, in recent years, while the number of visitors has dropped to around half of the peak in the 1960s, the new Corona has caused the park to temporarily close in the spring of last year, and profits have continued to deteriorate.

It is said that the plan for the site after the park is closed has not been decided at this time.
