<Anchor> It is a

friendly economic time.

Reporter Kim Hye-min is here.

Reporter Kim, you worked from home a lot because of the corona.

But recently, you said the results of a survey of people all over the world came out related to working from home?

<Reporter>

There are still quite a few companies working from home due to Corona 19.

This is also the case abroad. Even if the spread of the coronavirus decreases, telecommuting is likely to become a type of work now.

So, Microsoft is conducting a work environment survey of 31 countries, including Korea, and 30,000 people.

Here's what the company's leaders should know about this year's trends.

Among these, we have only selected the contents that Korean workers can relate to.

First, workers said that the work-life balance was broken.

About 1 in 5 respondents around the world say their employers don't care about their employees' war labels.

More than half said they felt overworked and 39% felt more tired.

Often, working from home seems to be more comfortable because you work from home.

It's easy to think like this, but the result isn't that way.

<Reporter>

This report expressed that the'digital strength' has increased further.

In fact, the usage of e-mail and teleconferencing operated by Microsoft has increased considerably.

Compared to February of last year, in February of this year, meeting times worldwide increased by 2.5 times and chats increased by 45%.

The number of e-mails delivered to commercial and educational institutions increased by 40.6 billion.

If you want to communicate with colleagues while working from home, it is of course inevitable to increase, but the problem is that there were many times that such internal communication was conducted without a plan, temporarily, like a'bombing'.

In addition, even in such a situation where employees feel overloaded with chats and meetings, half of the employees who respond to chats responded within five minutes, just as they did when they went to work in the past.

I had to answer within 5 minutes.

I don't feel like this part is choking right now.

But you said there is a difference in perspective between executives and general employees regarding working from home?

<Reporter> When I

work from home, my business gets better.

Those who answered this way, and there were a lot more company executives than the average employees.

Most of these executives were millennials, Gen X, and men, while Gen Z, women, and career workers said they had the most difficult times last year.

In particular, 37% of workers said that the company is asking too much for the same working hours.

There were also survey results on what kind of work environment regular employees wanted.

Even after the spread of Corona 19 was over, they wanted a flexible work environment where they could work from home and go to work.

However, the reality is that the company's support is insufficient.

Even after a year of working from home, 42% of employees said they lack office necessities, and 1 in 10 said they don't have an internet connection to work.

So, while working from home, there are fewer opportunities for executives and companies to be aware of the difficulties that ordinary employees face while working.

That means companies have to actively look for ways to help with this.

Reporter Kim, but there are especially freshmen.

It would have been more difficult for these friends to adapt if they worked from home immediately after joining the company.

<Reporter>

People born in the mid 90s and early 2000s are called Generation Z.

For them, working from home was really a time of'struggling'.

Since I started working from home, it was difficult to find a foothold or feel that I belonged to a job.

Compared to other generations of employees, they said it was difficult to balance their work and life.

They also said that they felt more tired after work.

He said it was difficult to immerse in work or bring new ideas to meetings.

The report explained that the fresh perspectives and challenges of the younger generation are so important to the company that companies should make sure they work with a sense of purpose.
