G7 = A framework for withdrawing funds from the IMF = International Monetary Fund to support developing countries whose financial situation is deteriorating as the effects of the new coronavirus prolong at the meeting of finance ministers of the seven major countries It matched by expanding.

The G7 Finance Ministers' meeting was held online on the night of the 19th of Japan time, and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Aso from Japan.

At the meeting, we discussed support measures for developing countries whose financial situation is deteriorating as the impact of the new corona is prolonged.

Among them, the G7 countries agreed that the IMF would increase the scale of its financial support framework to the shortage of member countries by several hundred billion dollars from the current about 300 billion dollars.

This will allow developing countries to withdraw funds from the IMF as needed and expand measures such as new corona measures.

Regarding the support of developing countries, there are concerns that the funds withdrawn from the IMF will be used to repay China from the G7 countries, saying that China has not responded to the debt repayment grace agreed by the G20 countries.

After the meeting, Minister Aso told reporters, "There is a consensus that it is important to take concrete steps to improve transparency and increase accountability," and to fund developing countries. He expressed the idea that it is necessary to create a mechanism that will not be used for repayment to China.
