<Anchor> It is a

friendly economic time.

Today (19th) will be with reporter Kim Hye-min.

Reporter Kim, we are talking about a commercial area in an alley.

The business district in this alley refers to relatively small self-employed people, and these small self-employed people have been greatly affected by the corona and disaster support payments.

He said the results of this investigation came out.

<Reporter> It

was predictable to some extent that the commercial district in the alley would have been hit hard by the spread of Corona 19.

The city of Seoul has analyzed big data this time to see which regions and industries have drastically declined in sales.

First of all, compared to October last year and December last year, the total sales of alleys in Seoul decreased by nearly 20% from KRW 2 trillion to KRW 1.6 trillion.

Let’s divide it once every month.

Sales declined from January to March last year during the first major spread of Corona 19, but rebounded again in April and May, when all the national disaster support funds were paid.

At this time, it means that the people's consumption increased a lot by receiving the disaster subsidies.

In the second half of the year, sales plummeted whenever the period of great proliferation came and whenever social distancing was strengthened.

That doesn't mean that all companies' sales have fallen.

Sales of 6 out of 10 commercial areas in the alley have declined, but 4 of them have increased their sales even in the coronavirus situation, or remained similar to before.

<anchor>

It means that there are places where sales have declined, and rather, there are places.

So, what characteristics of the area is causing this difference?

<Reporter>

This is clearly different for each district. Let's take a look by dividing it into areas where sales were maintained or increased, and areas that were significantly separated from each other.

The alley commercial area where sales were maintained is a bright part of the map of Seoul you see now, but it is mainly located outside of Seoul.

Geumcheon-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Dongdaemun, and Yangcheon-gu are also areas where residential areas are concentrated.

On the other hand, many commercial districts that were hit by sales were located in nearby autonomous districts in the city center.

Mapo, Yongsan, Jongno, and Jung-gu.

Last year, as I worked from home for a long time, I didn't often go to the city center where there were many companies, and I stayed at home for a long time.

At the same time, I often went to restaurants around my house or ordered delivery.

Even if I went to the store, I used the area around my house more often.

<anchor> That's

right.

And it seems to be a little different depending on the industry.

<Reporter>

Let's first look at restaurants in the alley commercial area.

The chicken restaurant was the one with the highest proportion of the industry that maintained or increased sales.

Bakery and fast food restaurants were next.

However, by looking at this statistic, you should not misunderstand them like, "Most of the chicken houses have sold well."

It means that these industries are relatively better off, and the proportion of maintaining or earning more sales is 42% of the total, which is less than half.

Moreover, most of the orders for chicken houses are delivered, and given the fees that the delivery app took in the middle, you should take into account that they actually have less money in their hands.

Conversely, western restaurants were the most in the food service industry, where sales fell sharply.

Chinese and Japanese food followed.

<Anchor>

What's the situation in other industries other than the catering industry?

<Reporter>

First of all, in the case of the service industry, the sales of guest houses decreased at a rate close to 90%.

Attorneys and attorneys' offices were also shocked by the sales, and I asked nearby attorneys about the latest situation.

It is said that the dispute itself has greatly reduced as people do not go out of the house very well, especially as restaurants close early.

In addition to this, there are statistics that recent divorces have declined.

Accidents and divorce lawsuits have also decreased due to Corona 19.

On the other hand, there were quite a few businesses that made good sales at patent attorney offices and lottery shops.

As the importance of intellectual property rights has recently emerged, patent applications have increased.

It is interpreted as the increased sentiment of the common people, whose lives are difficult due to Corona 19, aiming for a certain amount.

In addition, in the case of the retail industry, sales of used furniture and lighting equipment stores had a high proportion of sales while staying at home for a long time.

Retail sectors that saw a significant decline in sales were stores of musical instruments, art and beauty materials.

This is because consumption trends have changed, such as fewer leisure activities and more online shopping.
