At present, wheat stripe rust has occurred 2.15 million mu in 232 counties in 8 provinces including Hubei, Shaanxi, Henan, Gansu, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Chongqing, marking the third recurrence year in the past 10 years.

Academician Wu Kongming of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences believes that the climatic conditions in the Mekong region this year are conducive to the occurrence and reproduction of Spodoptera frugiperda. In the later period, there are sufficient sources of insects that migrate abroad. The domestic and foreign sources of insects are superimposed. The pressure on the control of Spodoptera frugiperda will be significantly greater than last year.
In response to the worsening of pests and diseases this year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs promptly guided all localities to carry out emergency control and unified prevention and control.
In areas where wheat stripe rust occurs, farmers are reminded to take precautions against medicines. After the wheat turns green, the prevention and control measures of "detection with medicine and noodle protection" shall be fully implemented.
Strengthen the "three zones and four zones" deployment in grassland army moth occurrence areas, and effectively increase the prevention and control of the annual breeding area in Southwest China in winter and spring and the elimination of imported insect sources in order to reduce local hazards and reduce the base of insect sources that migrate north.
It is reported that Hubei, Shaanxi, Henan, Sichuan and other provinces have implemented a total of 2.77 million mu of wheat stripe rust prevention and control, and Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces have implemented a total of 2.21 million mu of spodoptera control.
