The retrial comes days after Nazanin Zagheri

finished serving a

five-year prison sentence for action against national security.

It took place behind closed doors in front of the Fifteenth Chamber of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.

According to his lawyer, the trial took place in a very calm atmosphere and after the oral argument was read, it ended.

The judge must rule on an unspecified date.

Iran begins from Thursday the holidays marking the Iranian New Year and almost all administrations are closed for a fortnight.

Which means Nazanin Zagheri might not know his fate for several weeks.

Maximum five years in prison

She also risks being sentenced to a maximum of five years in prison.

But her lawyer said he hoped for an outright acquittal of the young Iranian-Briton.

The British authorities demanded the immediate release of the Iranian-British.

Several foreigners and bi-nationals, including a 35-year-old Frenchman and Iranian-French researcher

Fariba Adelkhah

are still detained.

In recent years, there have been several exchanges of prisoners between foreigners or bi-nationals detained in Iran and Iranians detained in France, the United States or even in Australia.
