Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received the seal of "100% paperless" from the Smart Dubai Corporation, in appreciation of the Authority's success in completing the digital transformation of all its operations and services by 100%.

This came during the Smart Dubai delegation's visit to the authority’s main center, where they were received by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the delegation included the Assistant Director General of Smart Dubai, Executive Director of the Dubai Data Corporation, Yunus Al Nasser. And CEO of Dubai Smart Government Foundation, Wissam Lootah.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer expressed his happiness and pride in this new success, which is added to the authority’s record of excellence and leadership, and comes as a result of the authority’s tireless efforts to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the city of the future, and directives His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to transform the Dubai government into a fully smart model and build an integrated system for paperless government work, within the framework of the Dubai Paperless Transaction Strategy launched by His Highness, and aims to eliminate the use of paper In all internal and external transactions and with dealers by December 2021.

He said: “The advanced digital infrastructure owned by the authority, and its keenness to keep pace with the latest technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, has contributed to the acceleration and automation of all procedures for customers and employees alike, as the authority provides all its services through many smart and digital channels that help dealers complete their transactions. At any time, from anywhere, to save their time and effort, in addition to protecting the environment and preserving natural resources.

Al Tayer added: “The authority has also completed the electronic link with more than 30 entities, and the percentage of smart adoption of the authority’s services reached 97.49% in 2020. Among our initiatives that contributed to 100% dispensing with paper use is the authority’s smart application and the initiative to stop transactions. Cash and checks, stopping the use of printers and converting all paper transactions to digital, and the (Smart Office) and (Smart Document) application for employees, which constituted a quantum leap in the way services are provided, as they allow full flexibility for the authority’s employees to work remotely.

These initiatives contributed to the continuity of work, and the continuation of providing our services during the period of remote work after the spread of the (Covid-19) pandemic. ”

He said: “We are proud of this important achievement of the authority, and I would like to commend the efforts of (Smart Dubai) and its cooperation with various government agencies in Dubai, and we pledge the wise leadership to continue working to create unique experiences that enhance the happiness of all stakeholders and contribute to the transition in Dubai towards leadership. The future, by reformulating the traditional concepts of work mechanisms to match the rapid changes taking place in the world, strengthening its position as an incubator for creativity and a beacon for innovation, and that this year during which we celebrate the golden jubilee of the founding of the UAE, will be a starting point towards further progress, growth and prosperity, in fulfillment of the vision of the wise leadership That the UAE be the best country in the world by its centenary in 2071. ”
