“By the end of the year, hopefully, we will be able to present a prototype of the digital ruble platform - some technological platform that can be twisted in the hands, but within which it will not be possible to make real transactions yet,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

As noted by Zabotkin, next year, based on this prototype, taking into account its refinement, it is planned to launch testing rounds.

In October, the regulator presented a report on the creation and implementation of the digital national currency - the digital ruble.

It is assumed that it will be in the form of a unique digital code, which is stored in a special electronic wallet, and will be a full-fledged means of payment.

The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, emphasized that the digital ruble will not replace cash and non-cash money.
