With the exception of its stores in Nice, Vélizy and the Madeleine district in Paris, Ikea has been forced to lower the curtains of all its points of sale since January 31 and the closure of large non-food stores.
Faced with this situation, the Swedish furniture giant must review its strategy to continue to meet the expectations of its customers.
From this Tuesday, he will open a corner in the Cora hypermarket located right next to his Pacé store, near Rennes.
This ephemeral point of service will occupy an area of 1,000 m² in the store with eight Ikea employees who will be present to "offer consulting, sales and inspiration services," said the Swedish brand in a press release.
A similar point of service has opened in Toulon
Design points will also be installed "to support customers in the design of their kitchen and storage projects" with the possibility of having them delivered to their homes or picking up their packages on site.
Three weeks ago, Ikea had already opened a point of service of this type at the open-air shopping center L'Avenue 83 in Toulon.
If the concept could be duplicated elsewhere, it will however remain ephemeral.
"This point of service will close its doors when the Ikea store in Rennes-Pacé will be authorized to reopen again", specifies the Swedish giant.
