NTT plans to investigate the facts of the dinner in detail after it was pointed out that the dinner between the president and other executives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications was entertainment that violated the ethical rules of national government employees.

Yasuhiko Taniwaki, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, was virtually dismissed on the 8th for a dinner with NTT President Jun Sawada and others, saying that it is highly likely that he violated the ethical rules of national civil servants.

According to the interim report of the investigation released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, four dinners, including President Sawada, Mr. Taniwaki, and Director of the International Strategy Bureau, Makiguchi, were entertainment that violated the Code of Ethics.

In response to this, NTT plans to investigate in detail the facts of the dinner and whether or not such a dinner was held.

In order to improve the reliability of the survey, we are considering asking an outside expert to summarize the results.
