The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, in the presence and participation of the Minister of Health and Community Protection, Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Owais, met with a number of national and international companies working in the manufacture of medicines, equipment and medical supplies in the country, as part of the "Industry Future Dialogue" initiative, launched by the Ministry Industry at the beginning of last February, as part of its efforts to upgrade the capabilities of the industrial sector and enhance its competitiveness and advantages locally, regionally and internationally.

This meeting, which was held hypothetically, is the fourth in a series of meetings planned to be held with a number of national and international companies operating in the main industrial sectors in the UAE.

During the meeting, Al-Jaber and Al-Owais discussed the positive and significant role played by the pharmaceutical, equipment and medical supplies industry in the country in confronting the outbreak of the "Covid-19" pandemic, and the pressures that the health systems have been subjected to in the world, in addition to the effective and efficient interaction of the national health system with The pandemic, despite the impact of global supply chains, made the UAE a global example.

The meeting also shed light on the joint efforts of the government and the private sector in dealing with the pandemic, by providing supplies related to the pandemic, such as masks and sterilizers, as well as providing vaccines through cooperation agreements with China, with the opening of examination centers in various parts of the country, and the role it has contributed to Private sector companies in this joint effort.

Al-Jaber said, “The UAE was able to confront the (Covid-19) pandemic with great effectiveness by launching a series of rapid plans and initiatives,” adding: “Through concerted efforts between all concerned parties in the government and private sectors, the UAE has succeeded in reducing the level of the pandemic’s impact on People and various sectors, in a distinguished national achievement ».
