The one-year financial results of the corporate group under the umbrella of the beverage maker DyDo DRINCO showed a final profit increase of more than 80% from the previous year.

It is said that the reason is that the canned coffee that depicts the character of the popular manga "Kimetsu no Yaiba" was a hit.

DyDo Group Holdings, headquartered in Osaka, announced its financial results for the year ending January 20th.

According to that, sales were 158.2 billion yen, down 6% from the previous year.

The main reason for this was a decrease in sales of soft drinks at vending machines due to the effect of refraining from going out due to the new coronavirus.

On the other hand, the final profit increased by 80.1% from the previous year to 3.2 billion yen.

One of the reasons for this is that the canned coffee, which depicts the character of the popular manga "Kimetsu no Yaiba," became a hit, with sales of 50 million bottles in three weeks from its release in October last year.

Canned coffee is cheap and easy to make a profit, so it contributed to the final profit.

Tomiya Takamatsu, president of DyDo Group Holdings, said, "In collaboration with Kimetsu no Yaiba, young people and women who had never had canned coffee could buy it."
