It is understood that Xuwen County has a history of nearly 100 years of pineapple planting. It is a large pineapple producer in China and has been awarded the title of "Chinese Pineapple Township". The county’s pineapple planting area is about 350,000 mu, with an annual output of 700,000 tons. The output ranks first in the country.
Xuwen pineapple fruit is big, sweet, fragrant and beautiful. Its products include canned pineapple, pineapple wine, pineapple beverage, preserved pineapple, concentrated pineapple juice, etc., which are sold all over the world.
According to the Xuwen County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, due to the planting time and climate, this year, Xuwen pineapples will be listed 15 to 20 days later than in previous years.
Due to the long period of dry and drier weather since the second half of last year and no continuous low temperature, Xuwen pineapple has avoided the "black heart" phenomenon, is of high quality, and has a sweeter taste than previous years.
At present, Xuwen's pineapple field purchase price is about 5 yuan per kilogram (RMB, the same below), which has doubled from last year, with an income of nearly 20,000 yuan per mu.
According to Wu Jianlian, president of Xuwen County Pineapple Association, Xuwen pineapples are sold in small quantities from the end of January to early February each year, and are picked and sold in large quantities in March and April.
Since the beginning of this year, due to the shortage of local pineapples, large pineapple growers have to hire a large number of young and strong laborers from other places to help grab the harvest.
In addition, in order to strengthen and expand the pineapple industry, the county has established 13 pineapple standardized planting demonstration bases, refined and rejuvenated the bulk variety "Bali", and promoted excellent varieties such as "Golden Pineapple", "Sweet Pineapple", and "Golden Diamond Pineapple". , Increased the planting area of new varieties by 12,000 acres, and vigorously promoted the docking of production and sales.
