Volvo XC40 T4 Recharge -

After Jaguar and Ford Europe, it's Volvo's turn to announce the end of thermal engines.

For the manufacturer, it is in 2030 that the switch to all electric will be made.

The manufacturer also announces that its vehicles will no longer be available online.

“To continue to prosper, we need profitable growth.

So, rather than investing in a slowing business, we are banking on the future, namely electricity and online sales, ”explains Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars.

“Becoming a leader in the fast-growing high-end electric segment is mobilizing all of our efforts at the moment.

Last year Volvo launched its first all-electric car, the XC40 Recharge.

It will soon be its second 100% electric car, a new model of the 40 Series, to be unveiled.

By 2025, Volvo predicts that all-electric vehicles will account for 50% of its global sales and plans to market only fully electric or hybrid vehicles.
