According to the announcement by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association, etc., the number of new cars sold in Japan in February was 432299, 0.4% higher than in February last year, but remained at about the same level.



Of these, passenger cars, trucks and buses decreased by 2.2% to 262372 units, while mini vehicles increased by 5% to 169927 units.



In February of last year, which is the target of comparison, it fell by 10% due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, but in February of this year, it was mainly for passenger cars due to the state of emergency declared in 10 prefectures. Sales were sluggish.



An industry group said, "Many dealers were affected by refraining from holding sales promotion events. It is unclear how much economic activity will recover in the future, so I would like to keep an eye on the situation."
