Dewa introduces Guinness to its largest single-site gas power production facility

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority "DEWA" has recorded a new global achievement by entering the "Guinness Book" of records for the largest facility for producing energy using natural gas in one location, with a capacity of 9547 megawatts of electricity, in the Jebel Ali plant complex for energy production and water desalination.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, received the certificate from representatives of the Guinness Book of Records.

Al Tayer said, "The authority is developing plans to expand the electricity infrastructure, including raising the production capacity and strengthening the transmission and distribution networks based on the expectations of Dubai electricity demand until 2030, which take into account the demographic and economic growth in the emirate, in order to ensure that the authority provides its services to more than One million dealers in Dubai according to the highest levels of quality, availability, reliability and efficiency. "

He added, "This global certificate culminates in the authority's continuous efforts to provide an advanced infrastructure for electricity and water to promote the process of comprehensive and sustainable development and establish Dubai as a global center for the economy and a leading destination in attracting foreign direct investment, and for the emirate to be the preferred place to live and work and the preferred destination for visitors," explaining. The total assets value of the energy and water desalination plants in the Jebel Ali plant complex exceeds 45 billion dirhams.
