Coupang Itz, the 3rd largest delivery app industry in Korea, decided to lower the basic fee paid to riders (delivery agent) by 600 won starting tomorrow (2nd), and the riders faced a collective backlash.

According to the food service industry today (1st), Coupang Itz will cut the basic delivery fee paid to riders from 3100 won to 2,500 won starting on the 2nd.

An official from Coupang Itz said, "We will expand the range of the basic delivery cost from 2,500 won to 16,000 won, and additionally pay a maximum of 10,000 won for each distance." It consists of a premium, and the compensation for long-distance delivery has been greatly enhanced.

However, in the online space where riders gather, there are voices calling to enter a group holiday that is opposed to a daily fee cut on the 2nd.

One rider appealed, "If you accept the offer of Coupang Itz, it will give you the driving force to reduce promotions (the concept of extra money added to delivery fees) for other platforms such as Baemin Riders and Yogiyo," he said.

An official from Coupangitsu said, "When an order comes in, the rider supports it at that time, so it is difficult to determine the exact number of participants."
