According to the newspaper, among the reasons - the expected decline in the harvest of olives in Greece, Italy and Spain.

Combined with strong demand in the EU, it has driven European prices up by 20–40% yoy.

One large retail chain told the newspaper that new import orders from Italy come with a rise in price of 6-15%, from Greece - the cost has not changed.

In another, they say that there have been statements about price increases, but they are related to the exchange rate.

At the same time, they stressed that there is no solution yet.

According to experts, regular consumers of olive oil are not too sensitive to price fluctuations, so a strong decline in sales is not expected.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov told what factors influenced the rise in prices for food products in Russia.
