El Corte Inglés is studying a plan to face the impact of the pandemic that happens, among other things, by cutting the workforce that would affect 3,000 people.
"The objective is to adapt to the new circumstances and adapt the company's resources to current needs", as confirmed by sources close to it.
Of this number, 2,500 from stores and about 500 from central structures.
The commercial network has been the most affected by the pandemic, since from March to May the shopping centers were closed, except for the food section.
The department store group, which employs around 90,000 people, has called a meeting for tomorrow with the unions, to which a voluntary plan to reorganize the workforce will be proposed.
