As the government selected Siheung District, Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do as the sixth third new city to expand the supply of housing in the metropolitan area today (24th), attention is paid to how the housing site will be built as it will build medium-sized housing sites in Busan and Gwangju.

The government decided to reinforce the self-sufficiency function of the new residential land, and to minimize the inconvenience of living for the initial tenants, wide-area transportation measures were also prepared and implemented without disruption.

In the case of Siheung, Gwangmyeong, a new urban railroad that runs through the north and south of the new city will be established to link it with the GTX-B line.

Gwangmyeong Siheung New Town will supply 70,000 houses with 1271 million square meters.

This new city will be developed as a base city in Gyeonggi-do, located in the southwestern area of Seoul.

New cities near Seoul are concentrated in the east or southeast of Namyangju Wangsuk, Hanam Gyosan, Wirye, Pangyo, Bundang, and the northwestern Han River axis such as Goyang Changneung, Ilsan, and Gimpo, so there are not many large-scale housing sites in the southwest.

Gyu-cheol Kim, head of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "Siheung Gwangmyeong is about 1km away from Seoul, and is very close to Seoul compared to the existing 1st and 2nd new towns, and it is large in size." We expect to be able to absorb enough.”

Gwangmyeong Siheung District is 4.3 times the area of Yeouido and is the largest of the 3rd new towns, and it is the 6th largest new town in history when the 1st and 2nd periods are included.

Larger new cities are Dongtan 2 (24 million ㎡), Bundang (19.6 million ㎡), Paju Unjeong (16.6 million ㎡), Ilsan (15.7 million ㎡), and Godeok internationalization (13.4 million ㎡). ), etc.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is planning to construct an urban space that responds to the post-corona era through international design competitions, and to establish a healthcare infrastructure.

We will create a city that is safe from disasters by preparing measures to measure the size of Mokgamcheon, a river in the district.

In particular, it is characterized by securing a park and green space of about 3.8 million square meters, the largest among the 3rd new towns.

The green area occupies 30% of the new city.

An eco-friendly green area system is established through Mokgamcheon Waterfront Park (extended 7.1km) and a central park for each living area, and a youth culture and exhibition art space is also established nearby.

The government plans to build an inclusive city shared by indigenous peoples and the old city by strengthening investment in infrastructure.

We support the pre-migration and resettlement of businessmen and indigenous peoples by utilizing the Gwangmyeong Techno Valley and Hakon District that are being promoted in nearby areas.

For transportation measures, a railroad transportation network will be established that connects subway lines 1, 2 and 7, the Sinansan Line, GTX-B, and the 2nd Gyeongin Line under preliminary feasibility study by constructing the North-South urban railway that penetrates the earth in the north-south direction.

Light rail is being considered for urban railroads that run through the north and south.

In the north, through demand surveys at Sindorim Station on Subway Line 2 and in the south, plans to connect with KTX Gwangmyeong Station or Hakon Station on the Sinansan Line are underway.

When the second Gyeongin Line passing through the business district is confirmed, a station will be installed and a transfer center will be established.

This way, you can get to Yeouido, Seoul in 20 minutes, Seoul Station in 25 minutes, and Gangnam Station in 45 minutes.

The bus system will also be strengthened to establish a wide-area bus transfer facility in connection with the 2nd Gyeongin Expressway, and a circular public transportation system such as the arterial express bus (BRT) will be created to connect with the Seoul section BRT.

It is also being reviewed to expand the Beoman-ro and Suin-ro to eliminate bottlenecks, and to shorten the access time by installing a smart IC on the first ring road in the metropolitan area.

The Daejeo District of Busan will supply 18,000 houses with 2.43 million square meters.

In order to create a self-sufficient city in connection with the Busan R&D Special Zone, self-sufficiency sites are placed in places where transportation is convenient, such as subways, and start-up support and youth housing are provided near self-sufficient sites to realize a living environment close to direct residence.

A plan is also being promoted to establish a business start-up support hub to create a converging and complex industrial cluster in the western region.

In addition, the park and green area of 620,000 square meters will be created to establish a green axis in connection with the Nakdong River.

We will create an ecological green axis that connects the central park in the center of the district and the large bottom ecological park of the Nakdong River, and a park that utilizes waterways within the district is also created.

In order to improve transportation conditions, the Busan Gimhae Light Rail Station was newly established in the district to increase the convenience of public transportation to downtown Busan and Gimhae.

When the Gangseo Line (tram) passing through Myeongji-Eco Delta City is confirmed, a stop within the district will be installed to improve the accessibility of public transportation to the south side of the district.

The Daejeo-ro is expanded to disperse the traffic volume of National Route 14, and the Pyeonggang-ro is also expanded for smooth connection with the road between Sikman and Sasang.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that it is possible to get to Seomyeon in 30 minutes through the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Station, and you can reach Busan Station in 20 minutes by using the road between Sikman and Sasang.

Gwangju City's Sanjeong District is a 1.68 million ㎡ residential site along Eodeungsan Mountain, and 13,000 houses are supplied.

We will supply residential areas for workers such as the Bitgreen Industrial Complex in connection with the Gwangju-type job project.

We will create a high-tech logistics facility in connection with local industrial complexes, and a youth support network centered on youth entrepreneurship housing in connection with neighboring universities.

We plan to create a communicative residential environment such as Edu Park with enhanced community functions so that generations within the same living area can harmonize together.

A 380,000 square meter park and green area will be created, including a water-friendly theme park that utilizes Sunam Festival, Gaya Festival, and Sanjeong Festival in the district.

A road connecting the Hanam Jingok Sandan Road and the city center has been newly built to increase accessibility to the wide area of Muan Gwangju and Honam Expressway.

It also improves accessibility to downtown Gwangju by expanding Sonjae-ro, where traffic to the city is concentrated.

You can reach Gwangju Songjeong Station in 20 minutes by using Sonjae-ro, etc., and you can reach Gwangju City Hall or downtown area in 20 minutes by using Mujin-daero.
