The third day of "IDEX" and "NAVDEX" exhibitions 2021 witnessed the UAE Armed Forces announcing the signing of 12 deals valued at 5.589 billion dirhams with local and international companies, bringing the total of deals witnessed by the two exhibitions since their inception to about 17.913 billion dirhams.

Brigadier Rukn Muhammad Khamis Al-Hassani, official spokesperson for the IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions, said that the total foreign deals amounted to 1.164 billion dirhams, which represents 21% of the total value of deals, while the value of local deals reached 4.425 billion dirhams, or 79%. That the contracts were distributed to 6 foreign companies and 6 local companies.

The local deals included a contract with Abu Dhabi Aviation Company to operate and manage AW139 aircraft for search and rescue purposes in favor of the Joint Aviation Command at a value of AED 173.5 million, and a contract with "Etimad Strategic Security Solutions" to provide technical support for security systems to maintain operational readiness for the agency. For her part, Lieutenant Colonel Maya Al Mazrouei said that the foreign contracts included a contract with the HARRIS INTERNATIONAL company to implement the automated command and control project for the mobilization level for the Directorate of Command and Control worth 651.5 million dirhams, and an agreement with / ELETTRONICA / to renew the contract to provide technical support for electronic warfare devices IMEWS Mirage 9-2000 and MPA-8 reconnaissance aircraft for the Air Force and Air Defense Command, worth 289.394 million dirhams, and an agreement with the company / THE BOEING COMPANY / to provide maintenance services for C-17 simulators for the Air Force Command and Air Defense at a value of 112.966 million dirhams.

Al Mazrouei indicated that the fourth foreign deal included a contract with THALES LAS FRANCE SAS to purchase spare parts for the LLR SHIKRA / GM200 radar system for the Air Force and Air Defense Command, worth 66.4 million dirhams, and another deal with Rheinmetall Man Military Vehicles / which included a contract. Maintenance and purchasing of spare parts and providing technical consultations for the Fox mechanism and chemical devices with a company for the Chemical Defense Command with a value of 40.7 million dirhams, and finally a contract with / STATE COMPANY UKROBORNSERVICE / for training courses in the field of cyberspace for the benefit of the armed forces at a value of 2,938 million dirhams.
