Hitachi Astemo, an automobile parts manufacturer that had stopped operations at its factory in Fukushima Prefecture due to the earthquake on the 13th of this month, has resumed some operations due to the progress of equipment restoration.

Due to the impact of the earthquake on the 13th of this month, Hitachi Astemo stopped operations from the 15th due to the breakdown of electrical equipment at its factory in Koori Town, Fukushima Prefecture, which manufactures suspensions that connect the car body and tires.

The company was in a hurry to restore it, but on the 20th it resumed some operations.

However, it is not possible to clarify the prospect of resuming all operations.

It is believed that the suspension of operations at this plant led to production adjustments at car assembly plants such as Toyota and Nissan, and the company is rushing to make a full recovery with the support of automobile manufacturers.
