Ghosting is known as the sudden escape in dating.

Two people write to each other and may even have met in person before.

But from one day to the next, the other no longer answers.

The other person withdraws from responsibility like a ghost.

The phenomenon does not only exist in love life.

Even companies suddenly become ghosts - after applications.

At the end of the interview it was said: "We'll get in touch."

But it never comes to that. Or applicants are ignored from the start. "If you send out ten applications, you can assume that from three to four you will never hear anything again," says career advisor Jürgen Hesse.
