The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will provide additional support for a total of 2 trillion yen fund that will support companies working on the development of innovative technologies for 10 years toward the realization of a carbon-free society, depending on the degree of achievement of the target. I showed a draft of the management policy to do it.

To realize a carbon-free society, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will establish a fund totaling 2 trillion yen to support corporate efforts for research and development and practical application in important fields such as hydrogen and offshore wind power for 10 years. I am doing it.

The study of the fund system design began on the 22nd by a meeting of experts, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry presented a draft management policy.

Among these, the projects to be supported are set at 20 billion yen or more, which is the average scale of conventional R & D projects, and the system necessary for promoting the projects has not been established, and points for improvement are pointed out. If sufficient response is not seen even after receiving it, the business will be stopped and part of the funds will be returned, while if capital investment is made for practical use after the end of the business, the degree of achievement of the target will be reached. We will provide additional support accordingly.

The committee members who attended commented that the system should allow companies to take on challenges without shrinking, and that it is important to consider transparency and conviction when making selections.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will officially decide the management policy next month, and will start open recruitment of projects after April.
