Yahoo, a major IT company, has decided to give all employees 50,000 yen worth of electronic money as a temporary measure to prepare the telework environment.
While the government has announced a policy to review the system so that wages can be paid with electronic money, it will be implemented prior to this and the issues will be verified.
Yahoo has decided to give 50,000 yen to all employees and prospective employees who will join the company in April, for a total of about 7,800 people, as expenses for preparing the telework environment with electronic money.
It is assumed that the electronic money of PayPay, a major electronic payment service company in which it has invested, will be granted from the middle to the end of March and will be used for the purchase of desks, chairs, monitors, etc.
Discussions have begun in the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's council following the government's policy to review the system to allow employees to pay wages with electronic money for convenience.
At Yahoo, we would like to pay many employees with electronic money as a temporary allowance that is still accepted, verify the issues, and use it for introduction after the regulations are relaxed.
