“The value of the index at 91% as of January 1, 2021 means that up to 33 credit institutions (9% of the index's calculation base) at the horizon of 2021 are in a high risk zone,” the study says.

According to analysts, the consolidation of the banking sector will continue in 2021, including as a result of the departure of inefficient banks and the takeover of credit institutions by large players.

"The health index of the banking sector is likely to continue strengthening, but it will not show high growth rates until a full recovery of economic activity and banks' adaptation to the changed market realities," experts say.
