“It is worrying that the attackers are already well aware that if all this fraudulent activity goes through payment systems, then it is most likely to be stopped on the side of the bank,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
He noted that fraudsters are trying to force the client to come to the branch, withdraw funds and transfer them to the attackers through a payment terminal or ATM of another bank.
According to him, the bank from which they withdraw money only sees their withdrawal and does not know where they went.
“And this is a serious challenge that requires a separate study on our side and on the side of banks,” said Sychev.
Earlier, the Central Bank sent banks a warning about the scheme by which fraudsters stole funds from the accounts of legal entities using the remote banking system (RBS).
