Germany is keeping the shops closed - while Europe has reopened

When it comes to which measures to contain the corona pandemic are expedient and proportionate, there is actually only one point of agreement between the countries of Europe: supermarkets, drugstores and other sources to meet essential needs are open.

However, nearly a two-thirds majority of states have chosen to allow other stores to reopen.
