Statistics issued by the Ministry of Economy showed that the number of requests to re-establish ownership of trademarks in the UAE reached 777 during last January.

The positive start of the UAE trademark sector, with the beginning of the new year, reflects its ability to maintain good growth rates, despite the slowdown in economic conditions worldwide as a result of the Corona pandemic.

The registered activity in the trademark sector also strengthens the leading role of the state as a regional center for the work of major companies that carry international brands.

The work of international branded companies, which operate from the UAE, diversifies, as it includes various sectors, foremost of which are trade, services and technology, in addition to the sectors of logistics, tourism, travel and industry, and other sectors.

It is noteworthy that the huge infrastructure enjoyed by the UAE, and the excellent work environment that it provides to the business community, represent elements of attraction in the Gulf region and the Middle East for major international companies.

In the context of its keenness to increase the attractiveness of the business environment in the country, the Ministry of Economy decided earlier to reduce fees for some services provided for economic and commercial activities, including the trademark sector.

The brand sector’s positive start, early 2021, reflects its ability to maintain good growth rates.
