Semiconductor giant Renesas Electronics has announced that it is considering acquiring a British semiconductor design company.

The purchase price is currently expected to exceed 600 billion yen, and we aim to strengthen our earnings base amid growing global demand for semiconductors.

Renesas Electronics Corporation announced that it has proposed an acquisition to the UK-based semiconductor design company Dialog Semiconductor and has entered into discussions with management.



The company designs semiconductors in a wide range of fields, including those for automobiles and smartphones, and the acquisition price is currently expected to exceed 600 billion yen.



Regarding semiconductors, there is a global shortage of products for automobiles, and demand for smartphones, game consoles, and data centers is also expanding.



Renesas aims to increase the types of semiconductors it provides and strengthen its earnings base by incorporating Dialog.
