The top German economist Lars Feld warns politicians against giving in to all the wishes of business lobbyists and charities in the super election year.

The Chairman of the Expert Council considers the attacks on the debt brake to be extremely dangerous, also with a view to Europe.

Germany finally needs a market economy reform agenda to get back on the growth path, warns the head of economic management - especially since the crisis has relentlessly exposed the location's weaknesses.

Because the local population is only willing to do this in difficult times, politicians should use the corona crisis as an opportunity to change course.

WORLD:

Professor Feld, the consequences of the Corona crisis are straining the state coffers.

Aren't the Greens and the head of the Chancellery, Helge Braun, right if they want to loosen the debt rules permanently?

Lars Feld:

I strongly disagree.

Now, in the midst of the crisis, it is premature to ask about the financing of the corona loads.
