West Bank: Palestinian killed in Israeli settlement

A Palestinian was shot dead on Friday (February 5) in an Israeli settlement he had entered in the middle of the night in the northern occupied West Bank, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.

Khaled Maher Nofal, 34, was "
shot by settlers,
" according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, which said the Israeli army had recovered his remains.
The army for its part indicated that he had been "
neutralized
" by a guard of the farm in which he had entered, near the Palestinian town of Qalqilyah.
She also specified that "
no weapon had been found
" in the possession of the assailant.

”the army said in a statement.
Israeli raid
“
At the same time,
” a farm guard “
spotted
” the man and alerted other guards who
were
“
sleeping,
” the IDF added.
The Palestinian then rushed towards this guard, and "
assaulted
" him before being "
neutralized
" by a guard who had just woken up and the owner of the farm, according to the account of the Israeli military.
In the aftermath of this incident, Israeli soldiers entered the Palestinian village of Ras Karkar, near Ramallah, on Friday morning, where the shot man was from.
