To accelerate the decarbonization efforts of industry, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry plans to review the system to make it easier for companies to purchase electricity that does not use fossil fuels such as solar and wind power.

Decarbonization has become an issue for the international community, and there is an increasing demand among companies to use electricity generated by renewable energies such as solar power and wind power, which do not use coal or oil.

In order to clarify that a company is using renewable energy, a proof called a "non-fossil certificate" is issued according to the amount of power generated by a company that generates electricity from solar power or wind power. You need to buy the book from a dedicated market.

However, nowadays, certificates can only be purchased through electric power retailers, so the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is planning to review the system so that general companies such as the manufacturing industry can purchase them directly.

It also means that companies will be able to buy the required amount of certificates at a lower price.

At a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 5th, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kajiyama said, "In the global decarbonization trend, making it easier for general companies such as manufacturing companies to purchase carbon-free electricity is an international competition for companies. It is also extremely important from the perspective of power. We will put together concrete measures as soon as possible. "
