First, the growth rate of service exports in December was the highest in the year.
In December, my country’s exports of services amounted to 231.62 billion yuan, an increase of 6.9%, which is the month with the highest export growth rate in 2020.
Among them, the export of intellectual property royalties was 7.94 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 76.6%; personal cultural and entertainment services exports were 1.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 46.5%; transportation exports were 50.97 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56.9%.
Second, the deficit in trade in services has been substantially reduced.
In 2020, my country's service exports were 1,935.67 billion yuan, down 1.1%; imports were 2,628.6 billion yuan, down 24%.
The decline in service exports was 22.9 percentage points lower than imports, leading to a 53.9% drop in the service trade deficit to 692.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 809.56 billion yuan.
Third, the proportion of knowledge-intensive service trade has increased.
In 2020, my country's knowledge-intensive service imports and exports amounted to 2,033.12 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year, accounting for 44.5% of total service imports and exports, an increase of 9.9%.
Among them, exports of knowledge-intensive services amounted to 1.070.14 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9%, accounting for 55.3% of total service exports, an increase of 4.6 percentage points; the areas where exports grew faster were intellectual property royalties, telecommunications, computer and information services, and insurance services. , Respectively year-on-year growth of 30.5%, 12.8% and 12.5%.
Imports of knowledge-intensive services were 962.98 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%, accounting for 36.6% of total service imports, an increase of 11 percentage points; the areas where imports grew faster were financial services, telecommunications, computers, and information services, with a year-on-year increase of 28.5%. , 22.5%.
Fourth, the import and export of travel services dropped sharply. The global new crown pneumonia epidemic situation is severe, and the import and export of travel services worldwide has been greatly affected. In 2020, my country's import and export of travel services was RMB 1,019.29 billion, a decrease of 48.3%, of which exports fell by 52.1% and imports fell by 47.7%, which are the main factors leading to the decline in service trade. Excluding travel services, my country's service imports and exports will increase by 2.9% in 2020, of which exports will increase by 6%, and imports will remain basically the same.
