In response to a case in which former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Yoshikawa was charged at home for receiving a bribe from a former representative of a major chicken egg production company while he was in office, a third-party committee that examines the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at that time. At the first meeting, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami stated that he would like to request sufficient verification.

In response to this incident, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries established a third-party committee consisting of lawyers, journalists, government and livestock experts, and the first meeting was held on the 3rd.



At the beginning, Minister Nogami said, "I would like to request sufficient investigation and verification so that the public's trust in poultry farming and egg administration can be gained."



From the perspective of animal welfare called "animal welfare," the committee said that the former representative of a major egg production company, who was charged at home for bribery over a draft standard for livestock breeding environment formulated by an international organization, was the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Since it is said that he had requested former Minister Yoshikawa to oppose it, he decided to verify the poultry farming and egg policy at that time, such as whether it had any effect on decision-making.



The meeting will be held privately in the future, and the timing for compiling the conclusions is undecided.

Attorney Hiroshi Inoue, who serves as the chairman, told reporters after the session, "I would like to cherish the national perspective, investigate the facts while paying attention to various opinions, and rigorously verify them."
