The agency attributes this to the decision of the authorities not to introduce a lockdown in the second half of the year.

As noted, last year, Russia's GDP fell by 3.1%, which is significantly less than the 3.7% predicted by economists.

According to experts, the contraction of the Russian economy in 2020 will be half as much as in the eurozone, where it may be 7.3%.

At the same time, in 2021, the country is predicted to grow by about 3%.

Earlier, Rosstat reported that, according to the first estimate, Russia's GDP in 2020 decreased by 3.1%.

The Ministry of Economic Development said that the figure this year will depend on the implementation of the national plan for economic recovery and on the speed of vaccination.
