After a highly turbulent year in 2020, 2021 appears very uncertain for the employment of executives.

Will it even end with a contraction in the number of executive jobs in France?

It would be a first since 1993, almost 30 years!

It is too early to know but the APEC (Association for the employment of executives) notes that after a year 2020 when executive recruitments plunged by 40%, very few companies plan to recruit more this year.

Job cuts?

Fear of executives

Executives, moreover, are worried: they were 1 in 5 to fear for their jobs last September, and the proportion rose to 1 in 4 in December.

This concern is found especially among those under 35 and over 55, in particular in SMEs and very small businesses.

APEC notes in passing the significant increase in the number of executives currently in employment who are preparing for the idea of ​​looking for another job: their proportion increased by 7 points between September and December, both among those who are feel threatened only in those who have no fear for their situation.
