  [Explanation] The 16.34-kilometer-long Pingtan Strait Highway-Rail Bridge is a key control project of the Fuping Railway. The Pingtan Strait where the bridge is located is the world’s three major wind vents, which are as famous as Bermuda and the Cape of Good Hope. It has strong wind, deep water and waves It is high, and the wave force at the bottom of the bridge is more than 10 times that of inland rivers such as the Yangtze River. The impact force on the bridge increases exponentially, which brings great challenges to the "bridge guards" on the bridge.

After two years of meticulous care, he knew the foundation of the bridge.

  [Explanation] Zheng Hua told reporters that this "super project" that passes through the world-class tuyere cannot tolerate any sloppy maintenance. A little problem on the bridge may be amplified during high-speed train operation, causing unpredictable consequences.

So every day, he and his workers have to carry out detailed inspections of the bridge.

Every day he bends down and walks 6 to 12 kilometers in the dark box girder. The bolts on the support of more than 5000 hammers can distinguish whether the wall is strong, whether the wall inside the beam is damaged, whether the gap between the box beam connection is too large, and is ventilated by the faint headlight and the banging sound of the bridge.   At present, the maintenance of our bridge is carried out by a combination of civil air defense and technical defense. Our bridge has a bridge health monitoring system that monitors the bridge structure 24 hours a day. There are seven employees in the Pingtan Bridge work area on a daily basis, responsible for daily maintenance, ensuring trains Safe operation.

  [Explanation] The inspection of bridge piers requires a lot of patience. Under the vibration of fast moving vehicles and the erosion of sea breeze, every screw has the risk of falling off. Zheng Hua and the workers need to carefully check every screw by knocking.

  [Explanation] Since the bridge is a road-rail bridge, the time of the railway skylight is limited, and the routine manual inspection is very difficult.

Not long ago, the health monitoring system of the Pingtan Strait Highway and Railway Bridge was officially put into use. By setting up various types of sensors, it can timely detect more than a dozen impacts such as earthquake and ship collision, environmental wind load, linear monitoring of main beam deflection, and support displacement monitoring. As a factor of bridge safety, the Pingtan Strait Highway and Railway Bridge was given a safety warning and condition assessment.

  This is the earthquake ship collision sensor. In the event of an earthquake or ship collision, relevant information will be transmitted to our command center platform through the impact on our bridge structure. Similar to this sensor, our bridge has 659, and they are 24 hours Work to ensure the safe operation of our Fuping Railway.
