Faced with financial difficulties, the Arc glass group, based in Arques, near Saint-Omer, in Pas-de-Calais, announced on Tuesday the recruitment of 225 people on permanent contracts.

These contracts were facilitated by a long-term partial activity agreement (APLD) concluded this fall, the company announces.

"Six months after having taken a major step in the reorganization of its financial structure", in particular thanks to the support of the State, "the Arc group is looking to the future and announces the recruitment, as of January 2021, of 225 CDI production operators ”, according to a press release from the world leader in tableware.

"With all the social partners, we agreed on the fact that we were going to anticipate future needs and take advantage of the smoothing of activity resulting from the long-term partial activity in order to be able to train employees. , in particular these young recruits ”explained the managing director of Arc France, Tristan Borne.

Launched in July in addition to partial unemployment as a firewall in the face of the crisis, the APLD system authorizes a reduction in working hours of up to 40% of non-working hours, subject to a company or branch agreement. , from six to 24 months, including commitments on employment and training.

The minister said that 9,000 of these agreements had been signed.

Arc has 7,500 employees, including 4,500 in France, for a turnover of 811 million euros, according to figures provided by the company.
