A case where a husband gave his wife a chartered deposit while giving his wife a chartered apartment was also subject to investigation.



While receiving an apartment, you have to report the gift tax based on the actual transaction price of an apartment of a similar area in the same complex, but there are cases when you report it at a published price lower than the market price, and then you are investigated.



With the strengthening of the holding tax and the transfer tax rate, the number of gifts with lower tax rates increased sharply to 150,000 last year, and the National Tax Service initiated extensive verification.



As a result of the investigation, 1,822 people who were suspected of evading gift tax were caught and proceeding with additional collection procedures, with the largest number of 1,100 cases hiding other gifted property.
