The current health crisis which requires the closure of bars and restaurants has serious consequences for the Société Fécampoise d'Entreprises Electriques, based in Seine-Maritime.

The company will have to throw away 250 barrels of beer, which represents 5,000 liters, reports

"The beers' use-by date will soon expire", explains the manager who wanted to relaunch the local beer Made in Normandy (MiN).

The barrels, which were mainly intended for bars and restaurants, are stored at his cousin farmer but they risk ending up in the trash.

And for good reason, it is impossible for him to donate it to associations, for lack of authorized events or gatherings.

A big shortfall

“I was contacted by restaurateurs who sell take away, especially in Rouen, and by people who organize waste recycling.

We are going to work to prevent everything from being lost and to give, why not, a second life to beers, ”adds the boss, who is trying to keep hope.

For this company, the loss of earnings represented by the loss of these barrels is estimated at 65% of its turnover.

Despite this situation, the manager intends to continue his activity and continue to support his craft brewery.
