KCC Honorary Chairman Sang-young Sang-young, the youngest younger brother of the late Chairman Jeong Ju-young of Hyundai Group, passed away yesterday (30th) at the age of 84.
Born in Tongcheon, Gangwon-do, Emeritus Chairman Chung founded Geumgang Thread Industries in 1958 when he was 22 years old, and has since grown into KCC, a high-tech material chemical company through Korea Chemical and Geumgang Korea Chemical.
Honorary Chairman Chung has been on the front line of management for more than 60 years, including attending the company until the end of last year.
With Honorary Chairman Chung, the era of the first generation of business establishments has ended.
