Qin Yuyun, director of the Grain Reserve Department of the Bureau, said that the epidemic prevention and control is currently at a critical period. Coupled with the strong demand for grain and oil consumption as the Spring Festival is coming, it is particularly important to ensure that the supply of grain and oil is stable.

　　According to Qin Yuyun, from the perspective of supply and demand, in recent years, China's rice and wheat production has been harvested year after year, consumption has remained generally stable, and there has been a surplus in production and demand that year.

In terms of inventory, China's rice and wheat inventories are at a relatively high level, which can meet one year's consumption demand.

In terms of processing, the more than 20,000 processing enterprises currently included in the statistics can process 1.5 million tons of rice and 800,000 tons of wheat every day.

　　Data show that since the beginning of this year, a total of 1.59 million tons of rice have been traded, and the average premium has remained at the level of 40-60 yuan (RMB)/ton, roughly equivalent to the end of last year.

Qin Yuyun said that since the autumn grain market in 2020, prices have been high, the market is good, farmers have been selling grain enthusiastically, and the acquisition has been progressing smoothly.

As of January 25, the integrated enterprises in the main producing areas had purchased a total of 127.42 million tons of autumn grain, a year-on-year decrease of 520,000 tons.
