China News Service, January 28, spokesperson Wu Chungeng of the Ministry of Transport introduced on the 28th that currently, more than 210 online ride-hailing platform companies have obtained operating permits, with an average daily order volume of about 21 million orders.

He also pointed out that leading platform companies must strengthen self-discipline, supervise fair competition, set an example of innovation and development in the business process, and be a model of compliance with laws and regulations.

On the 28th, the Ministry of Transport held a regular press conference in January.

At the meeting, a reporter asked: How to implement the central government's spirit of "strengthening anti-monopoly and preventing the disorderly expansion of capital" in the supervision of new business formats in the transportation sector, and what are the corresponding measures?

Wu Chungeng said that in recent years, new forms of transportation represented by online car-hailing have developed vigorously, bringing new vitality and new convenience to the transportation service market.

At present, more than 210 online car-hailing platform companies have obtained operating licenses, with an average daily order volume of about 21 million; the number of shared bicycles has reached 19.45 million vehicles, and the average daily order volume has exceeded 45.7 million; and the number of shared vehicles has exceeded 20 million. 10,000 vehicles and more than 180 cities have been opened for operation.

In the process of the development of new business formats, some platform companies have infringed on the legitimate rights and interests of passengers and consumers and disrupted the fair competition order of the market through their dominant market positions.

Wu Chungeng pointed out that the Central Economic Work Conference in December last year clearly required "strengthening anti-monopoly and preventing the disorderly expansion of capital" and put forward new requirements for industry supervision in the transportation sector.

The new form of transportation is not an "outside the law", let alone a "jungle world."

Leading platform companies must strengthen self-discipline, supervise fair competition, set an example of innovation and development in the course of business, and act as a model of law-abiding and compliance. They must not think that "big can not fail, and big can not be managed."

The Ministry of Transport will conscientiously implement the deployment requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, give full play to the role of the inter-ministerial joint meeting on the coordinated supervision of new forms of transportation, and standardize and support the healthy development of new forms and models in the field of transportation.

The specific work starts from the following three aspects:

The first is to strengthen anti-monopoly work.

Cooperate with the State Administration of Market Supervision to strengthen the monitoring and analysis of the industry's operating conditions, focus on preventing and stopping monopolistic behavior that eliminates and restricts competition, maintains the order of fair market competition, and protects the public interest.

The second is to strengthen industry supervision.

Efforts will be made to improve laws and regulations and explore the comprehensive application of digital supervision, credit supervision, collaborative supervision, social supervision and other supervision methods to promote the improvement of industry management capabilities and promote the development of industry standards.

The third is to optimize the development environment. Instruct local transportation departments to further strengthen service awareness, cultivate more dynamic emerging market entities, enhance industry development momentum, promote the development of new and old business formats, expand the supply of high-quality services in new transportation formats, and provide the people with aspirations for better travel Solid and powerful transportation service guarantee.
