Israel is barricaded.

After having vaccinated nearly three million people, or nearly a third of its population against Covid-19, the Hebrew state decided earlier this week to close its airspace.

The measure is extended this Thursday evening to the land borders.

Israel is breaking records in terms of vaccination against Covid-19 but also in terms of new contamination by this virus.

So no choice, the Hebrew state takes a radical decision: citizens, or resident foreigners, hardly anyone is allowed to enter or leave the country.

Because despite a strict general containment in theory (non-essential shops closed, schools stopped), the country is recording an outbreak of new cases.

"

It is because of the non-respect of social distraction measures by part of the population

 ", regret the health authorities.

What worries the government the most are the different variants of the virus, and in particular the British and South African mutations.

The objective is therefore to prevent the spread of these new forms of Covid-19.

This “hermetic closure of the company” and of the land borders with neighboring countries, Egypt and Jordan, must last at least until the end of the month.

But Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu would already like to extend these restrictive measures.
