With the global shortage of semiconductors, there is a growing movement among manufacturers to increase supply.

Of these, Renesas Electronics, a major semiconductor company, has decided to embark on alternative production for the Asahi Kasei Group, which has suspended semiconductor production due to a fire that broke out at a factory in Miyazaki Prefecture last year.

Last October, a fire broke out at the Asahi Kasei Electronics factory in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and the semiconductors that have been delivered to domestic automobile parts manufacturers and audio equipment manufacturers continue to be unable to be produced.

For this reason, according to the people concerned, Renesas Electronics, a major semiconductor company, has decided to produce the same semiconductor instead.

With regard to semiconductors, as automobile production picks up sharply, the supply of microcomputers for automobiles cannot keep up, and domestic and overseas automobile manufacturers are forced to reduce production, and the impact is spreading around the world.

Governments are requesting manufacturers in Taiwan to increase production of these semiconductors for automobiles, and there is a growing movement among semiconductor manufacturers to increase supply.
