Asics, a sports equipment manufacturer, and Casio Computer, an electronics manufacturer, have announced that they will start a service that provides running advice based on the data obtained by wearing a sensor on the waist.

ASICS and Casio held a press conference on the 27th and announced that they will start a service to analyze and advise on running from March.

By running with a sensor developed by Casio on the waist, in addition to mileage, pace, pitch, etc., data related to the form such as trunk tilt, pelvic movement, impact at the time of touchdown, etc. are calculated.

It is a mechanism to evaluate how to run by collating it with the data of how to run 10,000 people collected by ASICS.

In the dedicated app, the score is displayed on a scale of 100 points, and the running form is analyzed to give advice on how to run efficiently, less tired, and less risk of injury.

Both companies say that they are focusing on high-value-added services, saying that their interest in health and running is increasing due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

Asics President Yasuto Hirota says, "We want to provide services that are more in line with consumers' desire to continue exercising in a fun and safe manner."
