From January to December, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide totaled 333.951 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 88.103 billion yuan, or 20.9%.

1. National Lottery Sales
In December, a total of 36.512 billion yuan* of lottery tickets were sold nationwide, a decrease of 4.416 billion yuan or 10.8% over the same period last year (referred to as the "year-on-year").
Among them, the sales of welfare lottery agencies was 15.269 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.488 billion yuan, a decrease of 18.6%; the sales of sports lottery agencies was 21.242 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 927 million yuan, a decrease of 4.2%.
From January to December, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide totaled 333.951 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 88.103 billion yuan, or 20.9%.
Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 144.488 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 46.75 billion yuan, a decrease of 24.4%; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 189.463 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 41.352 billion yuan, a decrease of 17.9%.
2. Lottery sales by type
In December, the sales of lotto digital lottery tickets were 23.304 billion yuan, an increase of 326 million yuan or 1.4% year-on-year; the sales of guessing lottery tickets were 9.669 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.880 billion yuan or 16.3%; the sales of instant lottery tickets were 3.110 billion yuan, A year-on-year increase of 390 million yuan, an increase of 14.3%; video-type lottery sales of 0.0014 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.662 billion yuan, down 100%; Keno-type lottery sales of 428 million yuan, an increase of 411 million yuan, an increase of 2528.7%.
In December, the sales volume of lottery lottery, quiz, instant, video, and Keno accounted for 63.8%, 26.5%, 8.5%, 0.0% and 1.2% of the total lottery sales respectively.
From January to December, the sales of lotto digital lottery tickets totaled 221.908 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.429 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.4%; the sales of guessing lottery tickets were 74.917 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 47.25 billion yuan, a decrease of 38.6%; the sales of instant lottery tickets were 294.20 The sales of video lottery tickets were 6.795 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 37.29 billion yuan, a decrease of 84.6%; the sales of keno-type lottery tickets were 911 million yuan, an increase of 744 million yuan, an increase of 445.9%.
From January to December, the sales volume of lotto numbers, quiz, instant, video, and Keno accounted for 66.5%, 22.4%, 8.8%, 2.0%, and 0.3% of the total lottery sales respectively.
3. Lottery sales by region
In December, compared with the same period last year, a total of 8 provinces across the country saw lottery sales growth, of which Xinjiang, Jilin and Ningxia increased more, with a year-on-year increase of 95 million yuan, 62 million yuan and 26 million yuan respectively.
From January to December, compared with the same period of the previous year, a total of 29 provinces across the country saw lottery sales decline.
The Ministry of Finance reminded that lottery agencies at all levels should closely track and analyze new situations and new problems, and earnestly strengthen lottery issuance and sales to ensure the smooth operation of the market.
Financial departments at all levels should further strengthen supervision, actively create a good external environment, maintain the normal order of the market, and promote the healthy development of the lottery industry.
